UTK Nonprofit Day Symposium
Last summer, I got the opportunity to do field work work with high school students in Cherokee, NC. The Sheldon Lab, in collaboration with the Eastern Band of The Cherokee Department of Fish and Wildlife, conducted a mini summer camp for students interested in biological research! The students had the opportunity to set up their own field experiments, run data in R, and give presentations of their findings. It was truly inspiring to see high schoolers get motivated to participate in climate change research. Thank you to the Sheldon Lab and our collaborators for the opportunity to teach in the camp and present our poster at the UTK Nonprofit Day! (Photo cred: Michael Camponono; Twitter: @mcamponovo).
